Open Registration
Anyone can register through a public page, with or without approval.
The most common flow for events chasing reach. The page is shared openly, anyone can register, and you decide whether everyone is accepted automatically or reviewed first. What decides its success is usually not the technology but the length of the form.
Best forPublic seminars, exhibitions, communities, events chasing reach.
Stages
How a Guest Moves Through It.
- 01
Landing Page
A branded page you can share across any promotional channel.
- 02
Registration
A form shaped around the data you actually need, not a template.
- 03
Approval
Optional. Your team approves or declines before a registrant counts as confirmed.
- 04
Confirmation
Confirmation and QR are sent automatically, followed by reminders near the date.
- 05
Check-in
Scanning on site, with a name-search fallback when a QR goes missing.
What You'll Decide
Three Things That Decide Whether It Runs Smoothly.
This flow has decisions best settled before sign-ups open rather than when the event is close.
- 01
Every extra field costs you registrations
A long form feels safe to an organiser and expensive to sign-ups. We help cut it to the fields you will actually use.
- 02
A registrant is not an attendee
Open registration almost always carries no-shows. Scheduled WhatsApp reminders help lift turnout.
- 03
Capacity has to enforce itself
Per-session or per-tier quotas are enforced by the system, so sign-ups stop when full and the waiting list takes over.
Before We Start
What You'll Need to Hand Over.
- The form fields you genuinely need, and what each one is used for.
- The capacity, and what happens when it fills: close, or a waitlist.
- The dates registration opens and closes.
- The promotion that will bring people to the sign-up page.
Don't have all of it yet? That's fine. We'll put the rest together in the first conversation.
Questions
About the Open Registration Flow.
How do you stop one person registering twice?
The WhatsApp number or email acts as the key, so the same person is never recorded twice. If they register again, they simply get their existing ticket back.
Can the sign-up page sit on our own domain?
Yes, for example register.yourevent.com, designed to your event's identity. If that isn't needed, the page can run on our address instead.
Can we see which promotion a registrant came from?
Yes. Each channel gets its own link, so you can see how many registrations came from Instagram, email or event partners, and which channel actually turned up.
Not sure this is the right flow? Let's talk it through.
Plenty of events end up on a different flow than they expected, and that is normal. Tell us how your guests usually arrive and we'll help map it.
